DAY
01 Arrive Delhi
Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to the
hotel. Afternoon combined city sightseeing tour to Old
and New Delhi. Visit Qutab Minar, India Gate, Lakshminarayan
Temple, drive past President’s House, Parliament House
and Secretariat Building. Also visit Raj Ghat and Shanti
Vana - the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi & Jawaharlal
Nehru, Jama Masjid and drive past Red Fort and Chandni
Chowk. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 02 Delhi / Agra
Early morning, transfer to railway station for Shatabdi
Express to Agra _ dep. 0615 hrs/Arr. 0810 hrs. Meeting
and assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel.
Morning city sightseeing tour visiting the world famous
Taj Mahal. Later visit the Fort build by Emperor Akbar
containing Palaces, the Pearl Mosque, the Halls of Public
and Private audience. Also visit Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah.
Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 03 Agra / Bharatpur/ Jaipur
Morning, proceed for Jaipur enroute visiting the Bharatpur
Sanctuary. The sanctuary offers a great mixed heronry
of birds mainly Little Grabas, Cranes, the Indian Moorhen,
the Pheasant Tailed and Bronzewind Jacans. Also visit
Fatehpur Sikri, the ancient ghost capital of Emperor
Akbar. On arrival in Jaipur check-in at hotel. Overnight
at the hotel.
DAY 04 Jaipur
Morning excursion to Amber Fort. Visit the Jagmandir
or Hall of Victory glittering with mirrors Jai Mahal
and Temple of Kali. Ascend on elephant back the hill
on which the fort is situated. Afternoon city sightseeing
tour visiting the Maharaja’s City Palace and the Observatory,
Albert Hall Museum, Ram Niwas Gardens and Hawa Mahal
or the Palace of Winds. Drive through the pink rose
residential and business area of Jaipur. Overnight at
the hotel.
DAY 05 Jaipur / Sariska
Morning proceed for Sariska – 111 kms from Jaipur and
on arrival check-in at hotel. Afternoon, visit - the
Sariska National Park, Rajasthan second tiger reserve
with dry deciduous forests – 27380 hectares in area,
its dense forests spreading over the Aravallis. Sariska’s
terrain is an ideal one for the tiger. The Great Predator
of Sariska’s forests is the leopard. Porcupine, chowsingha,
rhesus and langur are also found at Sariska. Overnight
at the hotel.
DAY 06 Sariska/Delhi
Morning proceed for Delhi – 200 kms from Sariska and
on arrival check-in at hotel. Rest of the day free for
independent activities. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 07 Delhi / Corbett
Morning drive to Corbett National Park – 291 kms from
Delhi and on arrival check-in at rest house. Rest of
the day at leisure. Overnight at the rest house.
DAY 08 Corbett
Morning, visit the Corbett National Park, named after
the famous sportsman and naturalist, Jim Corbett. This
is a magnificent National Park and, Project Tiger (set
up the total environmental preservation of the tiger)
was inaugurated here. The avifauna is particularly rich
at Corbett and some 600 species have been identified
here. Water birds, both resident (cormorant, darter,
heron and egret) and migratory (bar-headed goose, greyheaded
goose and duck) abound near the lake and streams. Of
the woodland birds, the largest is the black and white
plumaged pied hornbill whose gruff is in piquant counterpoint
to the sweeter notes of the cuckoo and the Himalayan
whistling thrush. Overnight at the rest house.
DAY 09 Corbett
Morning, visit to the National Park. Afternoon free
for independent activities. Overnight at the rest house.
DAY 10 Corbett/Delhi
Morning, drive back to Delhi and on arrival check-in
at hotel. Rest of the day free for independent activities.
DAY 11 Delhi/Khajuraho/Bandhavgarh
Early morning, transfer to airport to connect flight
for Khajuraho. Assistance on arrival and drive straight
to Bandhavgarh and on arrival check-in at Camp. Overnight
at the Camp.
DAY 12 Bandhavgarh
Morning, visit Bandhavgarh National Park-steep cliffs,
rocky hills and a skyline dominated by a 2000 years old
fort give the Park its unique, dramatic splendour. Bandhavgarh’s
44884 hectares area contains dense sal and bamboo forests,
ideal terrain for the tiger for whom thick shelter and
plentiful water are so essential. Apart from the tiger,
the Park’s large mammals include the blue bull, gaur or
Indian bison, panther sloth bear and sambar. Avian life
abounds in the forests clearings and streams, and the
more colourful species are the paradise flycatcher, Malabar
pied hornbill and orange headed ground thrush. Overnight
at the Camp.
DAY 13 Bandhavgarh/Khajuraho
Morning, drive back to Khajuraho and on arrival check-in
at hotel. Afternoon, visit the world famous Khajuraho
temples built by the Chandela Kings between 950 A.D. and
1050 A.D. The most important are the Chaunset Yogini Temple
dedicated to Goddess Kali, the Mahadev Temple, Chitragupta
or Bharatji Temple with a lovely image of 11 headed Vishnu,
Visvanath and Nandi Temples, Lakshmana Temple and Vraha
Temple which is the largest and most typical of Khajuraho
Temples. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 14 Khajuraho/Varanasi
Transfer to the airport in time to connect flight to Varanasi.
Assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. After
check-in city tour of Varanasi visiting temples and the
local bazaars. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 15 Varanasi / Delhi
Early morning boat cruise on the river Ganges to see the
bathing ghats and the cremation sites, Raja Ghat, Munshi
Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat and Dasaswamedh Ghat. Also see
the 18th century observatory built by one of the rulers
of Jaipur and the Nepalese Temple. Later transfer to the
Airport in time to connect flight to Delhi. Assistance
on arrival at Delhi and Transfer to the hotel. Evening
at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 16 Delhi/out
Morning transfer to the International airport in time
to board flight for onward destination.
