DAY 01 Arr. Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Old Delhi visiting Red Fort built in 1548 by Mughal Emperor Shahjehan, Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana-the cremation sites of mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. Also drive past Chandni Chowk, shopping centre of Old Delhi. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 02 Delhi
Morning sightseeing tour of New Delhi visiting Qutab Minar built by Qutab-ud-din Aibak in 1199, Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate (war memorial arch), Lakshminarayan temple, and Lotus Temple. Also drive past President’s House, Parliament house, Government secretariat buildings and Connaught Place shopping centre of New Delhi. Afternoon free for shopping etc.
DAY 03 Jaipur
Early morning transfer to the railway station to board Shatabdi Express to Jaipur departure 0600 hrs. Arrival 1000 hrs. Assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Half day sightseeing tour of Jaipur visiting Maharaja’s City Palace, the Observatory and Ram Niwas Gardens. Drive past Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds and through the rose pink residential and business areas of Jaipur. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 04 Jaipur
Morning excursion to Amber Fort with elephant ride. Amber Fort was the ancient capital or the state until 1728. Visit the Jagmandir or the hall of Victory glittering with mirrors, Jai Mahal and temple of Kali. Ascend on elephant back, the hill on which the fort is situated. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 05 Jaipur/Agra
Jaipur/Agra by car enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri. On arrival check-in at hotel. Afternoon city tour including the world famous Taj Mahal built by the Mughul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Later, visit the Fort built by emperor Akbar containing palaces and the halls of Public and Private audience. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 06 Agra / Khajuraho
In time transfer to the airport to board flight to Khajuraho. Assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon visit to the temples built by the Chandela Kings between 950 AD and 1050 AD. The most important are the Chaunset Yogini temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, the Mahadev temple, Chitragupta or Bharatji temple with a lovely image of 11-headed Vishnu, Vishvanath and Nandi temples, Lakshmana Temple, Visha temple dedicated to Shiva, which is the largest and most typical of temples. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 07 Khajuraho / Varanasi
In time transfer to the airport to board flight to Varanasi. Assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon city tour visiting the Bharat Mata temple with a big relief map of India in Marble, Durga temple, Tulsi Mansa Mandir, Banaras Hindu University which has an art gallery and the mosque of Moghul Emperor Aurangazeb built on the site of an ancient Hindu temple. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 08 Varanasi
Early morning boat ride on the Holy river Ganges to see the bathing Ghats and cremation site. Watching people bathing and worshipping at the ghats is one of the most extraordinary experiences of a visit to India. After breakfast leave for half day excursion to Sarnath, the buried Buddhist city where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Sarnath was a renowned school of learning from 6th century B.C. to 12th century A.D. Rest of the day free. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 09 Delhi
In time transfer to the airport to board flight Delhi Assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel.
