Away from the humdum of the Mall, the flats and the bazaars, in the foothills of GarhwalKumaon Himalayas is a modest house of the wildlife.
The Jim Corbett National Park is in Kumaon. The fauna includes Wild Elephants, Leopards, Hyenas, Jackals and Wild Dogs, Hog Deers, Barking Deers, Sambhars, Chitals and Bears can stun you.
Ramganga, with Indian Trout, Goouch and Mahseer, is good for angling. Elephant rides and jeep safaris are possible. A wide range of accommodation is available. Corbett Riverside Resort, Tiger Tops Corbett Lodge and Quality Inn Jungle Lodge are excellent hotels.
The best way is by road from Delhi along the Delhi-GhaziabadHapur-Moradabad road turning left at the 7th km for Kashipur, Ramnagar and onwards. It is 290 km from Delhi.
